September 5, 20178 yr Popular Post I feel like I have stepped into the big time of woodworking now after obtaining my first Incra tool (jig). It's been a long time coming and patience had to be executed. I stopped in at our local indoor flea market...walked past a booth that was 55% clothes, 35% junk with the remaining a hodge podge of old steel toys and a half-dozen "tools"... However hidden away obscurely on a lower shelf to which I had to kneel on one knee (no easy task in itself) and tilt my head just so for the bi-focals to work in the light, I made out the word Incra...further investigation revealed this treasure... The original Incra Jig...circa 1980's...original price sticker on box is $39.99...current price from Incra for the latest version is $59.99 on sale but does include a DVD valued at $9.95 (sale price). I gave $3.21 with tax...seemed reasonable enough Even had the original manual...I was able to download a PDF version (the later model, but essentially the same) from Incra This had never been assembled or used...who knows I may never get around to using it either, but I own something Incra... Surprisingly all the hardware seems to be there although it was loose in the box....
September 5, 20178 yr Good for you. I like the idea of carrying around a list of wants when visiting garage sales at their homes. I don't mind at all to ask if they have so and so if I don't see it. They are having that sale for a couple of reasons that benefits the buyers. They either need the money or getting rid of junk they never use.. Bargains bargains. Now tell me what in the world is this bargain used for. I have a few things with Ancra's name but this never registered as something I would need.... Better yet don't tell me for I might go and kill myself for never buying one!!!!!!!!! Well at least that big black wing nut sells for the price you spent.
September 5, 20178 yr i haven't been to a garage sale in about 10 years..... i bought a slide rule for $5 once. nice one too. K&E log log duplex. fancy. no batteries required!
September 5, 20178 yr Could not resist . Had to refresh my memory. Been a long time. Always thought it was cool but did not do enough boxes to warrant the purchase. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=11&v=n4KC0OMroMc

From what I learned from the book and the same video Gerald found, making your own fence & attachments (or buying from Incra), it's a jig to make precision and repeatable finger, dovetail and other joints (non-smoking kind) on a router table or table saw primarily but does have other set-up options. Now don't do yourself any physical harm over never owning one Patch, for Incra still sells an updated version of this and for a lottery winning sum, a very fancy and much larger all aluminum version. I figured the same thing, the knob and hardware were worth the selling price. 1 hour ago, Gerald said: Could not resist . Had to refresh my memory. Been a long time. Hey, for three bucks, I'll give it whirl sometime, maybe... 1 hour ago, Stick486 said: nice find... did you get more of them for the rest of us... Christmas is almost upon us... Sorry only one I saw, but like I said, I had to get down on one knee to make this one out...there might have been more but I wasn't sure I was going to get back up after retrieving this one...
September 5, 20178 yr Dave I use stickit sandpaper on my incra stuff to keep the wood from sliding when cutting. A smidgen of a slip can ruin a piece of wood right quick.

September 6, 20178 yr Popular Post @Grandpadave52 Replace that knob with a cam locking lever and you'll like it a whole lot better...it'll speed up the operation...wear your seat belt though...
September 13, 20178 yr Great find! I don't have one of those but I have many other Incra tools and all are top notch!

Actually I may have one that will work. Grizzly had some on closeout a few years back; now where'd I put them. Second thought, if it's going to over-speed me maybe I should leave the knob.
