August 31, 20178 yr IDK Dan...would be a great place to start...if not they should be able to direct you. In our small community, we have a Fire Extinguisher service operated by former firemen. That's where I take mine.

September 1, 20178 yr If it is a small dry chemical unit , turn upside down and expel all the gas. I wouldn't think it would require special disposal. Roly
September 1, 20178 yr What Roly said is exactly what our local (volunteer) FD told me a few years back when I replaced a couple of old ones.
