August 14, 20178 yr Popular Post Sure wish I could make these enlargements clearer as I am starting with a pattern thats 5 1/2"x 2 1/4" and then enlarging it to 21"x 13" as things start to get a little fuzzy by then. Something I found online that looks like it might put some head scratching on me for a few days.. Now its only letting me show just part of the picture. Too bad I'm not 8 or 9 years old for I might be able to figure out this computer a little better. Well the bottom end looks about like the top anyway. Too bad I got in a hurry when planing some ruff maple Sunday for after I edge joined the boards and glued them up both of what I have in the clamps are too short for this clock.. Those only took one of the three boards so maybe I can measure and glue up a couple panels today. I was thinking of doing the indian in the picture called end of the trail or something like that. The lines show where the biscuits went. Not only was he at the end of the trail he was also almost out of ink.... I thought I could smell wood burning when I was cutting the maple to size with the 7 1/4' Skil saw and looking at the glue up, yep I did!! The blade is almost as old as the saw, maybe 45 years old with no carbide tips. When a person is getting close to the end of the line also kinda like the indian there is no need to help out the economy by buying more stuff... I will show the next step as I glue the pattern on to the wood getting ready for the scroll saw. (656) Pinterest.html Edited August 14, 20178 yr by Smallpatch
August 14, 20178 yr Looks like two neat projects. Trying to enlarge a picture that much is very difficult without special software. It's just the nature of digital stuff off of the Internet. Sounds like you are getting your money's worth out of that saw blade!
August 14, 20178 yr Can't wait to see both in progress Patch! PM me your mailing address and I'll send you a new 7-1/4" blade. Don't want you to get hurt.
August 14, 20178 yr Author Shucks Dave at first I thought you might be including me in your winnings of that mega whatever lottery. I did notice someone on your street won last night 4 or 5 hundred million. . Oh well. Actually I use to sell tools and things and these are that old, some still new. None back then I ended up with that had carbide tips. And really I don't remember when carbide came on the market but am deciding to use them up. Most of what I got left are in the 6" range????? I don't even remember stocking diameters that small??

I did notice someone on your street won last night 4 or 5 hundred million. Only one problem with the first part Patch...I'd have to buy a ticket first...you'd better place a bet in Vegas I'll get struck by lightning...better odds...As for someone on our street (road) winning...it wasn't me, so that narrows it down to the other 4 houses...probably the new people that moved in about a year ago... Maybe I should get in the truck and take the 2 mile round trip to the other end of the road and see where the party is at. I've probably got 20 7-1/4" blades, HSS non-carbide...some new and in the original sleeve I bought back in the 70's and 80's when I was doing some part-time carpentering. Almost all of those are Bluegrass Hardware...I hate to use any of them now since they're vintage. I probably have another 25 or more, 6"-10" HSS, non-carbide (some unused) I've purchased at yard sales and flea markets for $0.50 to $1.00. Can't bring myself to use those cause they're vintage. That doesn't count the carbide I've bought at yard sales & flea markets for pennies on the dollar. Then a couple of years ago, I was at a yard sale and a guy had 20-25 mostly 7-1/4" blades on a couple home-made carrying handle...almost all had been re-sharpened and still had the wax on the teeth and blades...some were carbide, some not...I picked them up, looked at them, put them back down, looked at some other stuff and started to leave. The old guy (older than me anyway), said "aren't you going to buy those and take them with you?" I said, "naw, I really don't need any more blades."...he said, "give me a couple bucks and get them out of here," so I did...Some were too rusty to use on anything good, a couple of the carbides had a tooth missing; I've used those for demolition work, then scrapped.

August 15, 20178 yr Author Dave, not long after Texas started their lottery a first cousin living in Houston won 29 million. My wife had been spending, buying the same 5 different numbers from day one, she never won 1.00, never... I told her the odds for another Littlefield winning big bucks has been shot all to hell after Bruce won his money so if you will stop giving money to the state of Texas I will take you to Las Vegas once a year and let you spend the amount you have been spending in a year only then you can do it in two or three days.. Hey , for a bunch of years we did have more fun in Las Vegas than watching her check the numbers every week and watch her reactions after she realized she didn't win....but needless to say age has called that once a year excursion to a halt. I don't think either one of us could walk a block now and still have a grin on our faces. I use to tell every one who was fixin to remodel their homes to go to Las Vegas first and see what big bucks can do. Then go home and do the work their selves to get the cost down to where millionaires might could afford that stuff. Money is no problem with those people when it comes to designing accommodations and sights to make people want to go and see and spend money. I was just kidding about someone on your street winning. It was over a block or two , maybe even a different town and or state????
August 15, 20178 yr Well Patch, I won't ask any more about your trips to Nevada, 'cause I understand "What Happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas!" At least that what the TV commercials say... 42 minutes ago, Smallpatch said: I was just kidding about someone on your street winning. It was over a block or two , maybe even a different town and or state???? Oh I knew that...hasn't been hardly any traffic on the road today...if someone had one that kind of money in this area, the roads would have been buzzing. Several years ago, a couple in town close to my age won the Hoosier Lottery for $250k...that was pretty big news in a town of about 227 counting all the dogs and cats and a few goats. I think the convenience mart in town got $2500 for selling the ticket. They built a new, but modest brick home on a lot they already owned and bought a used motor home but that was it. He retired from the railroad just a couple of years back. They never had any children...not sure they ever owned any of the cats or dogs in town either come to think of it. August 15, 20178 yr Popular Post My dad was a farmer. Someone once asked him what he'd do if he won the lottery. He said that he'd just keep farming till the money ran out.
August 15, 20178 yr Author I have heard where those big bucks all of a sudden have ruined lots of ordinary folks. Too bad I never got the chance to see how it effected me!
