July 29, 20178 yr Popular Post A good way to remember the sequence for preparing rough stock is the acronym FEWTEL F - face - flatten one face E - edge - joint one edge square to that flattened face W - width - rip to finish width T - thickness - other face to uniform thickness. E - end - square up one end L - length - cut to finish length Works if you're using power equipment, hand tools, or a little of both. Edited December 5, 20178 yr by Ron Dudelston tags added

July 29, 20178 yr Futile - that's how i read it out loud. as in, no matter what you do to this piece of wood, it's still going to do what it wants to do, so your efforts are Futile.

Hmm, I always remembered it as "Few Tell" I have a friend, Bill Fee. On my GPS it says "Bilfy" and on my phone it says, "Feeble" Edited July 30, 20178 yr by kmealy
