Now the weed burner set up will have a set of wheels and a place to hang the torch and things.

I didn't have to buy a thing for the tires and wheels was stock from the go cart sales way back when and the rest of the junk metal was just that, junk.

Now I hope the propane tanks are still the same size as this one which we used on a mini motor home in the mid 60's. The handle and base were parts of bed rails from a nursing home remodel. It seemed the staff kept getting their fingers cut off and other things from a bad design when built.

Wife called me on day and said we have some free metal so bring a big trailer..

Notice in the picture of my rubber grip on the top piece...part of an air hose.

Anyone who has been around for a long time will agree that storage areas keep getting smaller and smaller the older a person gets so I still have to attach the hanging devices I also built to store the torch and attachments on top of this unit after the paint dries... Right now the paint is being cooked on with the sun...

Great job! That should do the trick

Nice!

I think there's space enough for a small cooler there on the lower part of the handle

Lew good idea but in this hot weather I stay just a few steps from  a few bottles of Gator Aid.

Something almost like that if you see someone throw out an old gas power pressure washer.   pull the unit off the base and you have something very similar.

Nice job Jess, don't be starting any wildfires now...

Cal

Awesome job Jess!

A weed burner? Man if we got caught burning our weeds in our region we'd get tossed in jail. I admire the freedom the flyover states have.

Actually, we can do the same as long it is not during fire season up in here "go green" Oregon

Excuse my ignorance guys, how do you burn the weeds? Do you burn a field of weeds all at once, or do you use the torch like "Round Up", just hitting one weed at a time?

I hit just the weeds one at a time and I will do small areas of grass/weeds around the driveway at one time

Cal the very best time and really only time to use this contraption is right after a rain while things are still wet. Otherwise I have to take the time to wet down everything. Using one of these in the spring is almost a no-no for this is the wind blowing months and months and months.

John I prefer if everyone would consider our state a fly over and a drive through and not stop to live state. When we lived in California I never saw or heard of anyone with an accent in or around Yorba Linda the ten years we lived there from 1941 to 1952. That area has transformed completely....

P-toad I have a gas engine pressure washer on a cart and come to think of it I could have used that to remove the weeds and stumps and trees and also 50 pound rocks. Then I would have no shore line for it would all be on the side of the cove. Never thought of it or else I could have went by that design to get the weight distribution more exact. As it was I mounted all the parts on swivels then when I came up with the the right ratio's then I welded the parts on...took way too long to build it that way, why didn't you mention a pressure washer sooner. I have been a little slow in my thinking lately. I will still have to add extra weight to the front leg area cause it still wants to tip over.

Sorry Jess, you don't get that choice, I'm coming to a neighborhood near you when I retire!:D

John I don't burn an area just the new stuff and one weed and tree sprouts at a time. I let the rain make it safer for me and while its wet I do my thing.

That is interesting John.  I know one local farmer here, an organic pecan producer, who has a set up for his orchards.  I wonder how the organic farmers in CA take care of weeds.  Maybe cheap labor?

Possibly Cal. And if they are commercial, I am sure they have certain privileges that the average residence does not. It's quite possibly they can burn their weeds, I know they burn their piles. They more than likely have a license to do so. But as a residence living in your typical burbs, I doubt I'd have that access to license to burn.

No offense John, but I'm really thankful I live in Indiana...it has it's disadvantages sure, but minimal Big Brother offsets that...plus as a state we always operate under a balanced budget and have ~$1B in surplus. Not to mention we've given you two legendary basketball players and coaches in Indiana History...John Wooden & Steve Alford:lol:

Flyover status++ suits me just fine. Burning weeds is but just one of many advantages of living here. Second only to the availability of oil based finishes and pourable gas cans.:D

Dave, Wooden and Alford were two greats, alright. But, they used the wrong shaped ball.
