July 25, 20179 yr comment_118082 Some of you guys know me and some do not so a brief introduction on what I have been tasked with. I help out a service dogs agency called paws4vets or paws4 people by making intarsia dog heads that are in turn given as awards for various things. They have approached me asking if I could make a dog bank specifically a golden retriever and a chocolate lab as those are the two dogs they predominantly use. these dogs are given to vets, emergency service personnel etc free of charge. they are a solid organization I have one of their service dogs and her name is Winde, so anyway the would like to use these banks in store fronts et for collecting change donations. so far I have only found one on the web that may be workable but it will need to be upsized a bit. So I am asking if any of you have any better ideas or plans that may work for their needs that I could make. below is what i have found so far. any help/input would be appreciated. Report

July 25, 20179 yr comment_118132 If I made the dogs with the money showing I think it would be a good idea to put a swinging cover of some type over the money when its not good to advertise like when the person is not home. Report

July 25, 20179 yr comment_118197 i saw this on a search for "dog banks", and if you could work with someone with a laser you could possibly put the owner and their dog on the box. Keepsake and bank in one. Edited July 25, 20179 yr by p_toad Report

July 27, 20179 yr Author comment_118319 John Morris been going crazier than I am.. still have not been able to use lathe lol, had to redo my kitchen floor and learn how to make cabinets. which I did. I finished the bases and taking a short break before tackling the bank idea. but I have still not finished the library nor the kitchen,,, retirement sometimes does not feel much like retirement. I really do feel bad about not posting much. but hey will post new cabinet tomorrow. not pro stuff but I like them. one day that lathe and I are going to come to terms with like a lathe crazy 6 months if I ever can catch up. it will be sick of seeing me. about all I have been able to do is watch few videos and see play a bit with the tools on it on practice wood. July 31, 20179 yr comment_118804 I also really like the idea of the piggy bank that lew posted, because the way a dog sits, it would also look like he's begging for donations or sitting up/doing a trick for you. (not meant in a demeaning way) Edited July 31, 20179 yr by DerBengel Report
