Popular Post kmealy Posted July 20, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted July 20, 2017 Just ran across this video, I'm going to have to try it. The other technique I've seen is to make two L-shaped jigs, Put one on each side of a board to be dadoed. Put your piece to fit in the dado between them and slide them together and clamp in place. Then with a router with a top bearing, zero clearance bit less than but at least half the size of the dado, run across one side and back the other. Al B, HARO50, HandyDan and 3 others 6 Quote
Gerald Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 That is a brilliant idea. Will positively have to make one. Quote
lew Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 I've been meaning to make one of these. Looks like a good time to start. Quote
PeteM Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Seems to me this would also work with dado blade: use the jig to define the sides, then hog out the center without having to fiddle with dado blade width. Quote
lew Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Couple of images I pulled from another site Quote
Grandpadave52 Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 Thanks Keith...may have to make one in my "free time." Just saw Micro-jig brought out a version of this... Woodcraft-MicroJig Matchfit Quote
Gene Howe Posted July 20, 2017 Report Posted July 20, 2017 I'm a sucker for gadgets and gizmos. Bought the original Bridge City version and recently, the Microjig version. The Microjig is easier to use, I think. Grandpadave52 1 Quote

Just having fun and dreaming, Gerald...there's no free time around the "Poor Farm" here except maybe from midnight to 6 AM...doing nothing then but sleeping except for 2-3 trips to the "facilities." I haven't ordered one yet, but in the link you can order from Woodcraft...If you click on the Woodcraft link from TPW homepage, I think TPW get's "credit" for the origination. In your neck of the woods, I would imagine Peachtree and Highland Woodworker also carry? Not sure where Gene ordered his from...Highland maybe??? Quote
Gene Howe Posted July 21, 2017 Report Posted July 21, 2017 Gerald, due to my heavy use, I have an automatically recurring order with Amazon for "Free Time". Thanks for the reminder. I've been needing to up the quantities for a while, now. Grandpadave52, HARO50 and Cal 3 Quote
