May 18, 20179 yr Screws have some a long way from the slotted, soft metal screws I started woodworking with. Lots of (better) choices now. I just wish they'd stop making combo drivers like square+phillips or slotted+phillips. They don't work well with either (yes, I know they squillips drivers, but why?) If you don't have the right driver, maybe you shouldn't be messing with it. http://www.woodmagazine.com/file/14286/download?token=fPSqE4wS Edited May 18, 20179 yr by kmealy

May 18, 20179 yr Author I've had customers that have tried to remove a squipps screw with a Phillips driver and nearly messed them up They are shocked when I get it right out with my secret weapon -- #2 square driver. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_screw_drives Edited May 18, 20179 yr by kmealy
May 18, 20179 yr I dislike those com o heads as well. I've a long list of federal laws that should be passed (my opinion, of course) and one of them is that all screws will be square drive, the only exception would be drywall screws which kind of need that cam-out function.
