Phyl just brought me the latest issue of Woodcraft. She wants me to build the River Table featured on the front page. She wants mesquite. It'll be for one of our sons....not the one who got the Morris chairs.

So, not having slabs that configuration, I found a place about 190 miles south that was recommended by a few friends over on Lumberjocks. He'll custom cut for me and his prices are 1/3 of what the mesquite cost for the rifle box.

Finding a good source of my favorite wood has made my year.

Gonna pour me a glass of mesquite smoked Del Bac to celebrate.

care to share the source??

That's great Gene.  I am happy for you.  Can't wait to see the build.

Sure, Dead Tree Salvage. Casa Grande, AZ.

When you get to Phoenix, just head south.

Thanks, Dan. Can't wait to get started. Be a bit, though. Other irons...etc.

thanks...

I got the same edition in the mail Gene, I'd love to build one too, they are the rage right now, and they look very cool!

Saw a build of a similar version on YouTube. The builder put a bottom on his and used blue epoxy to simulate water ripples. Might try something like that. Others have installed blue rope lights. That's a neat look, too.

South on the I-10, East on Riggs Road, South on Alma School.  Stay the night in the extra bedroom in Sun Lakes.  In the morning, go the 587 back onto the 10, and Casa Grande.

Thanks for the very kind offer, Pete. We'll be coming from Tucson. We head to Coolidge, then to Globe from CG, then up. Shorter and less traffic. Have you visited Dead Tree Salvage?

Thanks for posting the address, Stick. I only had the turn by turn directions from him. Don't know why that address didn't show up in the quote.

Nope.  Googled the address for a satellite view:  he's got some piles of wood aright.

Heh, more likely we'll pass you on our way down to Nogales; wife is due for a visit to Paul Bond Boots.
