Live Music in Our Shop!

I had live music in my shop this past Saturday! Our youngest daughter was studying on the dining room table for her AP History exam, our oldest daughter wanted to practice at the same time, scholastic's take priority over all in our home, even over good music, so our oldest girl needed a place with her friend to practice for an open mic event that same night at a local music store that holds open sessions on Saturdays.
They asked if they could come out and practice while I work. I turned off my radio and opted for live. Hey, free live music while I work! What more can ya ask for!
Typically I don't like things on my table saw, I'll make an exception, this time. This a just a warm up they were doing to have fun.

Cynthia is our oldest daughter, on violin, and her "boyfriend" is on geeetar. He's an ok kid, took me a loooong time to accept it, but he's alright. Her first, they been seeing each other since their Jr. year in high-school and they are equally yoked. They are both wrapping up their freshman year in college. Good kids.

She plays in her college symphony, quartet, and symphony choir, she is well studied in classical, but her favorite to play all day long, is Appalachia.

How'd you get anything done with that going on in the shop?;) I would have just pulled up a chair (comfy one), kicked back and enjoyed the concert! :D

Beautiful young lady John (OK the boy friend is alright too;)) and very, very talented lady. Pretty obvious she knows her way around a violin (and a fiddle too)! Hope they did well at the open mic contest!

Here's an idea for ya'. Have them record a CD to do woodwork by and offer it for sale right here in TPW Store. Tunes like this and I'm in for a copy!

I'll let em know Dave! And thanks for the compliments, here is something funny. After they practiced for an hour, they picked up and headed down to the open mic, it was closed! Oh well, next time.

I have some small plans for some woodworking "How To" videos, and I always thought it would be neat to have our daughter bowing a little Appalachia sound for the opening and closing of the videos. It's great, don't have to worry about copy written music in my vidoes.

Very nice!  Enjoyed the music.  There is always next week.  They are good and definitely need to do the open mic thing.

Very Nice! All you need is a little hammer or nail gun in the background for percussion and you are ready to start touring :D
