My VA ID has always worked at Lowes (and HD, too) but, this online sign up will make check out faster for me...by about 10 seconds. But then, at my age, every second counts.;)

More good news. (Hopefully)

A source I trust tells me that all vets will be able to buy from the AAFES online starting in Dec. this year. Tax free and free shipping over $50.

The Lowes is legit, Gene.  I signed up this evening.  You will need your name, birth date and separation date.  It is typical military too.  All dates are month/day/year.  The process takes about 3 minutes if you are a MyLowes member.  As for your other good news, I could get excited about that.

Being a Retired Vet, I already can visit the PX/ Commissary/Class 6 store,as often as I want.....includes on-line.     Lowes, and Home Depot will give the 10% discount, as long as I show my retired ID.   Menards, however, does not.

Ron, thanks for that link. Looks like it's "under consideration".

Here in Idaho we have the word veteran on our drivers license. Since I have had veteran on my license I have not had any trouble with anyone but I keep a copy of my 214 in my wallet just in case. And by the way Denney's give 15% .

Here in Colorado, if you take a copy of your dd214 to the license bureau.  They issues temporary license until  your new one arrives. It has a small symbol that certifies you are an honorably discharged veteran
