Made this from some "leftovers"....

Quilted maple, Morado and a bit of Ebony.

That looks better than a lot people can do with full size lumber, rather than cutoffs

That's the beauty of making smaller things.... you tend to have some nice stuff left over from the board.  
I've been making boxes since around 2000....  I started woodworking, making big things, back in 1992.

Yes, the lid frame, or perimeter, is made from thin strip laminations....

Thanks Fred, the crates were kinda a joke, they wouldn't make a good humidor. His boxes are awesome.

Yeah, I got that...besides with your crates it's kinda "once you've seen one"; well, you know.

That;s a lovely box.  Great execution of nice lines with marvelous wood.
