March 17, 20179 yr Author Not exactly like I planed. I splattered a few drops of black outside where I had put the carvings to dry so change one. They now are a very dark whatever.. Might ever go darker when the clear is applied. Lew I am a big fan of highlights. Before I got into doing that I used to think those guys goes the extra mile just for the customers to enjoy. I applied three different dark colors after I screwed up. I have learned to grin and enjoy what ever turns out, the joy of not doing this for customers anymore...
March 17, 20179 yr Author Popular Post Sorry Dave, I go to bed early and didn't read the replys till now. I will put a pendulum movement in. I haven't received them yet and still don't know if 1/2" drop from where the movement touches the under side of the housing is deep enough In other words the pendulum needs room starting 1/2" down from where the movement touches the wood The stem is only 3/16" long. The thickness of the wood where the hole will be can only be 1/8" deep. The rest of that 3/16" the washer and the clock nut will use up. If I decide to install a movement with a pendulum and plays a tune and strikes the hours the clock body has to be at least 2 1/2" deep. Couldn't find the one I made but it was this picture I glued on the wood to cut out.. Lot more work if someone wants a fancier movement.. They have more different electric clock motors than the american autos have in them speeding up and down the highways.
