Simple minded has to see it to believe it... Thats me!!

I am fixin to make another stab at making a time piece to hang on the wall...I understand it has never been done before so here is how I would go about it if the teacher asked..IMG_8727.JPG.6c7b3f1ee1f28852be2a39746effb600.JPGIMG_8731.JPG.043a060a157d7c3e55188cccc48d3c08.JPG

I am torn between shapes. To some it don't matter unless she has the right shape. My problem,,  is I can never settle on one as I am cutting. I'm almost sure this next clock will not resemble either of these pictures when the paint dries...

Both are very nice

i'd just make a mission type rectangular case....

Either would make a nice clock.

Lew I've taken 30 pictures of differences during this episode. I have to keep the length to 20 inches or less because thats all my scroll saw will handle but I have gone through lots of carving pieces I have accumulated over the years......and the top picture was my first choice.

Dab, I've found over the years things built with straight lines is too easy to find the flaws.

+1 for the top one...more focused...bottom has too many points sticking out past the body....

it's hand made of natural product, of course there will be flaws.  want perfect, enjoy your trip to Ikea.

What color paint you using?

Herb, paint was just a figure of speech just to see if you were paying attention.  I don't have any idea on what this should look like when it is finished, color wise. I'm in the thinking stage right now and I am one of those, one think, at a time person. You will have to tune in later for that.

Patch, my preference is also the top layout...seems to flow better, but if you prefer the bottom one instead, then I like it best:D...Either one will no doubt end up being as spectacular as the others...

So, I guess I'll just have to wait and see which one you send me:lol::D:lol:

Off to a great start Jess, keep those pics coming.

Here is one tip for you - do not finish it today, it would have the wrong time tomorrow!

Dave the finished product is as big of a surprise to me as any one else. I do think I will leave the carvings in their original color. I have used every shade of glitter so I'm ready to move on .

Cal, lets be redoing the up stairs. Remember the time spent reading these post one room could have a new coat of paint. I at first thought maybe the remodel was for traveling guest then my wife looked over my shoulder and said she thought the trip was tied in to the remodel...?
