February 22, 20179 yr Good Morning Friends, I have decided to start a quiz on Wednesday as well as the one on Saturday, so here goes; How many different categories can you think of that are considered woodworking? (Example; Framing, Form work, Finish, Etc;)
February 22, 20179 yr Popular Post I'll throw out a few to get the topic rolling... Furniture maker, pattern maker, boat builder, finish carpenter, crafter, instrument maker, antique restorer...Ok, the rest are up to the really smart people since I just cherry picked...
February 22, 20179 yr Popular Post Any process, except making firewood and mulch, that alters the natural state of a tree to satisfy a human need could be termed "woodworking". OTOH, more than a few products from my shop, while satisfying my need to cut something, end up satisfying my need for heat.
February 22, 20179 yr turner, carver, cabinet maker, cooper (barrel and bucket maker), wheelwright, buggy maker, (wooden) plane maker, millwright (e.g., someone who makes gearing for wooden windmills or water mills) I'd also consider chair maker a little different than someone who makes furniture things flat and square Edited February 22, 20179 yr by kmealy

I think mulch does as well...I make plenty when I'm planing/
