I decided to go ahead and prefinish it before assembly to give the BLO time to cure before sealing the exterior and interior with shellac. Spanish cedar is more stable at high humidity and will help hold the humidity in the humidor and slowly release it. At least that's the way I understand it. It jade a strong aroma that will compliment the cigars I store in it. Native cedar has to strong of a cent and would give the cigars a foul taste. Most of the high end wooden boxes they ship cigars in will be lined with it or be solid Spanish cedar. Report
