I saved a narrow bandsaw blade in hopes of someday welding it back together. I have had this old Rockwell scroll saw sitting in my way for several years. After taking my tractor and pulling the big work table out of the shop, I moved the scrollsaw into line with the other machines. That is when I ran across the bandsaw blade. Looked at it for a moment, and decided to cut it to fit the old Rockwell. Surprisingly, it cut very well. Think I will hold on to the rest of the blade for future use in scroll saw! Haven't done anything worth sharing though.

That's a common suggestion over at OWWM. I used it once on an old scroller I had and it does work well.

That ought to work real good on 2x12" and bigger. The scroll saw blade makers might come a calling to your place with a gripe of hurting their business. Might snuf you out..

Hey Jim they won't let you go out before your regular time to go. You see they have you down  for just a certain amount of taxes and it would screw up the whole system.

  Some president way back there came up with the New Deal, well this is the Raw Deal which actually its been going on forever but it works so smooth , even the guys that started it as the boat was coasting to a stop after they hit that rock. They were talking about something called a tax as the last man was getting off the flower.

  They got life rigged so no matter how hard you might try , you just won't be able to die before you supposed to.

   To prove it, say this guy died while drinking a glass of milk. It might sound strange but somebody in the crowd will say, well it was his time.

Years ago, when cost was reasonable,  I had my saw blades sharpened by an old guy and he did a great job. I asked him if he repaired band saw blades. He said that he once did have a machine that re-welded band saw blades. The weld held really good, however, the blades had become brittle, due to heat and use. Once it broke, it was sure to do it again in another place.

It really amazes me when they get a whole plane load of people together when it is their time to go.  That has to take some real coordinating.

I agree with that 100%.... I have a blade welder. I have better

luck silversoldering a band back together. The welder has an

annealer to soften the blade up around the weld but it wont 

work with most band blade steels made today.
