January 5, 20179 yr Popular Post I do regular volunteer work at a furniture bank. They have a Kreg Foreman, about 18 months old, that failed. When you plunge the drill bit, suddenly the power would shut off the motor. We determined the problem to be a broken wire underneath where it pivots. One of they guys called them and they acknowledged it was a known problem and would send him "parts." Yesterday, a whole new machine showed up. If you have one, you need to know about this before you throw it out. Edited November 24, 20178 yr by Ron Dudelston tags added
January 6, 20179 yr Thanks for the information! This will certainly help others if it happens to them. Kudos to Kreg for great customer service!
January 6, 20179 yr Kreg is a top shelf company and seems to be doing everything right. Their R&D department is very ingenious and new products just keep coming out. Sounds like customer service is doing a stellar job as well. If they are a publically traded company, stock ownership might be a good thing to look into.
January 9, 20179 yr I can attest to the fact that they want everyone to be happy with their products. Kreg is a great company.
April 14, 20206 yr Popular Post I can verify this too. It's happened to me twice, then i figured out how to fix the problem and now I have two working machines and one for parts. I will me a Kreg customer for life.
April 24, 20206 yr If anyone is considering a router lift, consider their lift-----great quality and performance----they knocked it out of the park with this one.

Sorry for your problem, but glad it brought you here. Hope you'll hang around and jump in the mix. Like Fred noted, Keith discovered the broken wire but also followed up with Kreg for parts which ultimately led to Kreg providing an entire new machine. Reading subsequent posts showed others had similar experiences with Kreg. Assuming you haven't contacted Kreg, it appears it might be worth you'll while to do so. Perhaps not expecting a new machine but possibly troubleshooting tips as well as repair parts/ instructions to repair on your own. Let us know how things work out. Might help others like it helped bring you here.
