Are those pins at the corner...?  or plugs for screws...?

Perfect!

the common person has no idea how much work is involved in this type of project.  they just think it just happens!

those holes you see will get raised plugs that haven't been made yet...

used TimberLock screws and the idea is to remove the plugs and tighten the screws if anything ever loosens...

four rambunctious teens in the house...+ a horde of friends...

Great work, Stick.

Very nice job. I love oak on stair treads.

Great work on the stairs did you consider replacing the drywall at the edges of the stairs with a oak runner board to thwart the teens and rambunctious guests?

If a foot slips and shoots to the end of the stair tread to hit the wall would it better to have the foot captured in the drywall hole or stopped by the oak runner board?  It all depends on the severity of the fall and resulting actions of the person.

the treads are exceptionally coarse and the hand rails were lightly coarsened to exceed ADA requirements... so much for sliding down the banister...

even wet, the threads, handrails and strigers ARE NOT slippery...

clear coarse Axalta particles were mixed into the Rexthane and then spray applied....

Rexthane is the stuff airplane hanger floors are clear coated with...

Very interesting and professional.

thanks...

Nice work on the stairs. That entrance is just like ours, split foyer.

I redid ours many years ago, to the point they need to be refinished now.
