MIter replacement

Featured Replies

I did a detailed tune up on my table saw, De Walt 10".  I did find one surprise, the 4 bolts holding the motor, were not tight. The biggest problem found was the miter slop. It came with a T slot miter with an aluminum body. No adjustment on it. I tried another one from my large Jet bandsaw, it too had too much play. I also have a large Osborne precision miter from my old large table saw, but it is way to large and heavy. So I peined the original and got it tight. Being aluminum, it won't stay that way long. I am going to get a small precision miter. I like this one, it is small and has slot adjustments. Any suggestions

MITERV27 Miter V27 Miter Gauge

Any of the Incra miter gauges are very good. they have adjustable nylon washers to keep them tight in the track and are very precise. The one you linked should serve you well.

instead of peining add a lay or ever how many of foil tape or UHMW tape to the side of the miter rail...

IT WILL last for years......

foil tape can be found at auto parts suppliers...

metal duct tape works too...

wide UHMW tape on your fence is a major plus...

I have several...

pulled the washers and went w/ the tape...

way better...

with aluminum i would just drill and tap and insert a set screw (or two)...  but then i like doing stuff like that...
