December 20, 20169 yr Popular Post I was lucky enough to have purchased this house, sitting on an acre of land out of foreclosure.... Got it for less than having a 20x20 built in my back yard where I live..... The house was totally stripped, which was fine by me.... I have a video link below and a pic from the front. Video Link
December 21, 20169 yr What a find...a room for every power tool and with hardwood floors no less...color me green with envy and that's before I saw the upstairs lounge. Then the garage, deck and basement level...whew...my mind is racing with the opportunities here! Thanks for sharing even if I'm jealous.
December 21, 20169 yr Great use of an existing structure, price sound right. Would this be an idea shop to support the production shop or a different venture?
December 30, 20169 yr I have often thought it would be neat to purchase an empty house and turn it into a dedicated shop. But money and opportunity have always eluded me for it. Nice score! Do you have dedicated rooms for certain operations? ie; design, rough cutting, sanding, storage etc.? and if so, was it planned or did it morph into it and is it continuing to do so?
December 30, 20169 yr Author Thanks..... I do have dedicated rooms.... I do most of the "heavy lifting" in the "kitchen"... Planer, drum sander, drill press and router table set up in there. In the living room... I have the table saw, sanding station and large work bench. One bedroom is wood storage and my chop saw....another bedroom is my glue station and finally, the last bedroom is packing and shipping. I do my finishing in the basement. It's a continual morph....getting better every day.
December 30, 20169 yr and your poor pup is going "so, where's the food? i just led you around for this whole tour." Thanks for the look. Good use of the space and hope it's an area where you don't have lots of break-ins to worry about.
