December 11, 20169 yr Saw this on a local auction site. I like the layout (as if I need another toolbox). More pix here while it's still active: https://www.ebth.com/items/4748046-wwii-army-toolbox-with-assorted-tools Edited November 21, 20178 yr by Ron Dudelston t
December 11, 20169 yr That is one cool tool box. Have never seen anything like it. Thought a WWII tool box would look like a ammo cam.
December 11, 20169 yr That is one sturdy looking tool box. I like the layout too. I think if I made one I would make the top a little deeper to put my hand saws and level up there. What a hefty old drill motor, that one would twist you up in knots real fast if it got stuck . Thanks for posting ,brings back memories. Herb
December 11, 20169 yr That's really neat. The bid is currently at $180 plus shipping. It would fun to build one. I can't tell, is it metal clad?
December 11, 20169 yr The "leg" Infantry Companies I was with used to have a foot-locker sized Pioneer Tool box in the Supply Room. From Axes to Handsaws, and everything inbetween. Took two people just to carry the dang thing.....all hand tools inside. Once the 1/148 went to a Mech unit, not sure whatever happened to it.

December 11, 20169 yr Author I wish the inventory list as a little clearer. Yes, and that site gets top dollar. Earlier this year they had a Harbor Freight machinist's chest that was scraped and scratched that went for close to $100. Harbor Freight had new ones for sale the same day for $79. December 11, 20169 yr Author Found another like it , says it's Signal Corps 105 lb. loaded -- umph! http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/collectible-tools-in-chest-military-ww-ii-signal
December 12, 20169 yr Author And, geez, the lotters don't often know too much. Gonna get me some funky blue drill bits https://www.ebth.com/items/4878485-hanov-toughtest-drill-bit-set Last year, the had a "table saw" that turned out to be a circular saw sitting on top of a workmate style table.

That is funny, the drill only needs a fixed 1/4" chuck. Herb
