Tool Gloat

Did some bidding in a local online auction and won some tools.  Spent $600.  The  Robert Sorby tools in the first three pictures have a retail price of about $800.  My Christmas gift came early.

The rest of this was like getting it free.  There are some cheaper bran tools. A collet set, a dowel pro kit and a pepper grinder drill kit.  Some pen mandrels, 36 pen kits with 8 of those being the circuit board kits and a pen pieces kit to concoct your own style.  Also some cheaper forstner style bit sets.

Got an electric Dremel with flex shaft and right angle adapter and a cordless Dremel with many bits and carry case.  There is a slew of sand paper and some mandrels.  The rest is misc as shown.  It was like I robbed a bank.  Merry Christmas to me.

Yeah and I just can't get that frown off my face.

I bet you are signing, "merry Christmas to me, merry Christmas to me..."

Great score!!!

Wow! Great haul. Merry Christmas AND Happy Birthday.

Wow Dan!! That's a serious haul, nicely done!

Steve

Like you robbed a bank?  More like you robbed your local Woodcraft!

Nice score, Merry Christmas Dan,

Cal

A gloat indeed! Congrats....

My sympathies.  Now you have to build many drawers to hold it all, and then you will forget where they are, and in 6 months we'll be reading complaints about clutter.  It's like being a Scoutmaster again when I'd hear parents bragging, and then alternatively complaining about their kids:  it baffled me that they never figured out their basic mistake.  I will admit that ultimately tools cost less.

Holy smokes...you are Batman!! or maybe the Grinch that stole Christmas:lol::D

Great score Dan...and what's even better, you didn't have to get out in the cold to go shopping!:P

ya know.. the pleasure of giving and all...

and go out there and try it again...

We will just call you Robin Hood and wait for you to distribute the extras to us......Do you need my address?

there are????

You got an automatic center punch!!.

Great score.  Hey the first thing to do with the flex shaft, assuming you use the dremel hanging, mix up a little wheel bearing grease with a few drops of motor oil then rub on shaft. Or to keep your pinkies clean put a few drops in the top before screwing shaft to tool. not too much oil. the wheel bearing grease will keep the mix from going down hill. Mine has lasted more than 20 years but the Foredom which I did not grease at all lasted about 3 years of occasional use. Makes me wonder how long wheel bearings on the car would last with no grease .

Looks to me the flex shaft is the same as the mechanical speedometer cables from years ago.  Wonder if they are still available.

Holy crud, is there anything left on E bay? I've got a set of those planer blades still in the package if you want another pair. My planer died before I could use them.

Hey Dan there is another one finishing up on the 12th I believe, in case you missed anything. You scored big on all the extras cuz most of the people have no idea what they are. Great buys.

I believe a lot of the buyers are intending on reselling at the flea markets and on Ebay and yes they don't know what they are.  Once the 100% profit is gone they stop bidding.  The Wolverine jigs went to one buyer but the stands for them were bolted under the slow speed grinder which went to a different buyer.  The next auction doesn't have anything I want and the budget is depleted for now.
