November 22, 20169 yr Popular Post A few years ago, I picked a level at a garage sale for a couple bucks. Got it home, cleaned it up.....set it by a cabinet in the dining room.....and then......it came up missing.... Well, when the painters started to paint the dining room a week ago.....we had to move things out of the way.....laying on the floor was that old level. Has a Brass cover plate over the "Level" vial A Stanley "SW" No. 3 stamped into the plate. The "Plumb" vial has a brass cover to protect it... Needs a bit of clean up, now. All the screws are in place, even on the ends... So, I guess I will have to refinish the Cherry wood body, and shine some brass? Here is what it looked like when I first brought it home.. Not too bad. Makes me wonder what else has been lost in this house......
