It looks like I am gonna have to drive

all the way to Tucson to Woodworkers Supply for I have been waiting lots of months for a free shipping sale on baltic birch plywood.

I made out an order a couple of months ago, the order came to 250 and the freight was about the same so I thought wife and I could make the trip cheaper than the cost of gas and get to see some sights. We've only been down that road yearly for 50 something years but you never know what you can see next time. One of the lumber yards in Abilene stocks 3/4 and one other size for cabinets cheaper than I can buy it anywhere else but I need more sizes than that. Abilene said if they had more room inside, stocking it would be no problem.

Sounds like me driving to Harrisburg to the Woodcraft store. It's not that far away (50+ miles) but it's all Interstates. I hate the Interstates.

You have your Interstates, we have our 400 system..... I avoid both like the plague!

It can be a pain, but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Some parts of the interstate is 85 in the western states. At that speed the cell phone users are bad business. Our area got lots of rain in the early part of this year so the extra large amount of animals pose a great danger for night time drivers.

Our western direction driving always goes through Las Vegas. A place everyone should spend two or three days walking Las Vegas Blvd before they die....and going through every building on both sides of the street for you will never guess what they come up with to try and keep a person inside their buildings. No where else in the world will a person go ,WOW, as many times a day as you will there....

Jesse, I don't think there's a Woodworkers Supply in Tucson.

Did you mean Wooworkers Source, by chance.

I do mean woodworkers source . There are three in the middle of  the dry state. Thanks for the correction. My thinking don't exactly correlate with my typing. It could be old urge

I pretty much buy all my wood down there since our sons live down there. But, it's less expensive at stores in Phoenix. And, Hood Dist. In Tucson is cheaper, too. But, its an 8-5, weekdays only place. And, not that easy to get to.

yea its cheaper at a lumber yard in Abilene but not enough room to stock all sizes. I usually wait till Woodworkers source has the BB on sale. Are the places you mentioned still cheaper..

I've never been lucky enough to be there when they had a sale on BB so, IDK which would be cheaper. I do know that their sales on hardwood are pretty good.

If you are coming over on the Rt. 10, driving up to Phoenix wouldn't save anything. But, if you are coming through Phoenix, Spellman Hardwoods is pretty competitive. And, there's two WW Source stores in the Phoenix Metro area.

Since you know Woodworkers Source prices, I'd call Hood Dist. and Spellman Hardwoods to compare.
