November 13, 20169 yr Popular Post Last summer I was given a pile of veneer ends left from an estate sale. I have been trying to use up some so Itrid to make some things from them. First some scrap books and then from the leftovers some tags for wrapping presents.
November 14, 20169 yr Your creativity continues to amaze me. Very clever idea...these are really neat and what a great gift to receive. I've made hundreds of training manuals plastic spiral bound, but would never in a hundred years thought about using veneer. Just curious, did you have to wet or soak the veneer to keep from splitting when you punched the slots or installing the binding with the machine?

Just left them dry, they punched quite easily and clean too. I didn't do more than one at a time, didn't want to risk damaging the punch unit. After they are bound there is not that much force on each hole, they seemed to hold up good. these are black walnut veneer. I had the daughter of a friend who is an artist do the lettering for me for the one I gave my sister. I have one I tape the grand childrens photos into and had a lot of compliments
