November 6, 20169 yr Popular Post Just came across a wonderful image I found at the Facebook Page for Colonial Williamsburg. I have been following these folks for good amount of time now and I love the images coming out of their location. This gentleman is working on the construction of a Chippendale side chair. Quote The Cabinetmakers are busy this week with patterns and parts for three different chairs that will be presented at the annual Working Wood Symposium in February: a rococo side chair based on an illustration by Thomas Chippendale, a late baroque Philadelphia splat-back chair, and a Virginia corner chair. Stop by to check on their progress! Source:Colonial Williamsburg Facebook page
November 6, 20169 yr Author Oh wow! What a beaut Gerald! It's amazing what was, and still can be done 100% by hand. Thanks for taking the time to show Gerald, appreciate it!
November 7, 20169 yr Been a LONG time since I was there....summer of 1970..... There IS a fellow over at SawMill Creek's Neanderthal Haven forums that WORKED in the Music Shop. George Wilson, by name. Was about the time I went through the place. Was more interested in that round, brick Blockhouse with all the weapons inside. Not sure how long George was there......
