Spare bathroom....

 

the tub was working it's way downstairs,,, you guessed it.. the plumber cut the joists...

is there some mandatory rule or law that plumbers have to do this...

also the 1.5'' un-vented drain was trying to flow up hill..

 

 

replaced the tub w/ a Swanstone shower basin/surround and surround...

add a rain head too...

broke up the monotony w/ tile accents...

 

 

the vanity and med cab is shop built pickled poplar...

the top is by Swanstone...

the floor is snap lock vinyl...

What does that first pic show us, other than the pipe running uphill?  Why are all the 2x's laid flat?

final upgrade from the unvented 1.5'' line and seat of the pants joist replacement and sistering to repair the original cut cut through joist...

the right side of the picture show the drop for the hopper and where the new 3'' picks up and then caries through which turns up to the roof for venting inside of the wet wall...

the original tub 1.5'' line didn't have a trap either... the capped stub was because of a tub to shower CO... 

the Fernco was replaced w/ a repair coupling before everything was closed up...

Ferncos are great when you are doing placement/positioning and figuring out the angle to the dangles when space is really tight...

the wall 2x's are 2x6's...

the original 2x4 wall took up too much space.. needed a deeper recess for the shower basin and surround...

also the 2x6's doubled as cats for the ADA grab bars and what not...

the darker flat 2x's in the floor were cats to hold up the tub which failed miserably...

reworked them to hold the new ply...

I gotcha now Stick!  The pic is taken  looking down with subfloor removed!  When I first looked at it, I thought you were standing in the basement/crawlspace looking straight at it...  that said, you can understand my confusion with the 2x's laid flat!

there was no subfloor...
