Hobby horses

About 12 years ago, I built my grandson a hobby horse for Christmas. I selected the Clydesdale and got the plans from the web. I altered the plans some, added pieces and removed some. He loved it. Then along came a granddaughter. She wanted one too, but one for a girl. I couldn't  find plans that I liked, so I made my own. Now over the years these have been played with for hours and hours. None of their friends have ever seen anything like these and now their little brothers and sisters play on them too

so well done...

beautiful...

Both are beautiful. Since the larger horse was named Clyde, I'll guess the one for your granddaughter must have been named Dale:)

Actually, Clyde was half of a tandem. It was Clyde and Dale. However the plans came with both single and double horses. One was dark and one light. As you may guess, that would have been way too big for one kid and too big to store with two horses on the same base

Nice stable!

I've made some over the years for the neighbors and friends. Nothing as nice as this, however.

Ron those are absolutely beautiful! You created two Family Heirlooms. Please tell me you signed and dated those! There's a reason their friends never saw anything like those..you just can't go out and buy something of this caliber! Thanks for showing this off!

Figured you had, but will rest better now knowing it for sure!:P These will be treasured for generations to come Ron.

Not surprising either is your creativeness for the signature plate! B)

Wonderful!

Great work . I remember seeing Clyde before , maybe on Wood.

Great job. I'm sure they will be passed down for many years to come.

I am sure the kids loved those.  Wonderfully done.

Wish I had found you when my kids were that age...even the grandkids are past it now...

Beautiful work...will be admired for generations...

Whoa!  Superb craftsmanship!

Great work, who sees hobby horses anymore with all the plastic and electronic toys?
