October 21, 20169 yr Popular Post I know this has never happened to any of you so here goes. Several years ago I bought a Drill doctor and put it in my shop, well time flies and yesterday I thought to my self, time to sharpen some bits. I finally found it but I put the manual some where else. This morning I went online to drill Doctor and asked their customer support if they had a video so I could figure this thing out. Now I would have to wait for an answer back for a few days as usual. A couple of hours later I checked and whoa there it was. They had a video just showing what I need to do. Drill Doctor needs a big pat on the back. Best customer service I have ever had. I am a Drill doctor fan now. Preston
October 21, 20169 yr Thanks for posting this, I have a drill doctor and it's a great machine. Customer service is so poor with so many companies it's nice to hear of a company that's doing it right! Steve
October 21, 20169 yr I like the drill doctor, I have sharpened over 2000 bits from 1/8-1/2" and the little diamond wheel is still good. I like the WorkSharp too ,both made by same company, sharpens chisels and plane blades to a mirror finish in seconds, Herb

Well Preston, that's where you're misguided I won a Drill Doctor SB from an outline contest (about the only thing I've ever won) 4 or 5 years ago. Aside from taking it out of the box to make sure everything was there, powering it up to see if it worked, get the video out of the box and watch it, I've yet to actually use it. I see now that it is discontinued (probably because I never used mine ). I've been collecting bits that need sharpened including spade bits which this model does, but I have so many bit sets and spare bits purchased in various lots of stuff from garage/yard sales I've never had to use it. I do know where it's at...I think I put the manual and DVD back in the box...but now you have me wondering. If you haven't already, you can go HERE and download a copy for your machine.

I posted the KTS on an upholster's forum I'm on and it took off like wildfire. People sharpening their own shears, die cutters, cutting wheels, etc. I shared the thread with Drill Dr. and they sent me a couple of boxes of replacement belts. Good people.

Maybe I ought to do a thread of making diamond wheels for the WorkSharp..
October 21, 20169 yr Drill Doctor and their other tools are made in Ashland, about 15 miles or so south of me. They are top notch. I have their work sharp for knives - it is really great. Mine came with a zippered bag to keep everything in. My dads, did not. I was in Ashland one day and I stopped in to purchase a bag for his. Told them why I came in, and they gave me the bag for free. Imagine That!
October 21, 20169 yr Author Seems like there is nothing but good things to say about Drill doctor. I am going to check out their Work Sharp. If I lived 15 miles from them the only way they could get rid of me would be to give ne a job! Preston
October 21, 20169 yr Great to hear that the customer service is top notch. I have a Drill doctor and like it. It's been awhile since I've used mine. I guess I should get it out and get busy.
November 19, 20196 yr I have four different drill bit sharpeners, but the one I like best I found at the junkyard. It's an old Black&Decker. Bottom picture.
