Wooden Bar Clamps

Every year our woodworking group has a 2X4 challenge,i.e. make something out of a construction 8' 2X4.  We have had in the past some very creative projects come out of this contest.

This year I submitted a pair of bar clamps, following is the build in pictures, pretty much self explanatory.

Well, did you win the challenge? You should have! Those are really cool and look to be very robust. I love the knobs and especially the finished end detail. Quite creative.

Thanks for sharing the detailed visual journey. Enjoyed it.

No Dave like I said some really creative stuff comes out of this contest. Got a good response from the members though.

Last year I made a Winchester carbine that actually functioned, the lever cocked the hammer and the trigger released it.

The year before that I made a wooden bucket.

Well like I said, you should have...the Winchester replica is fantastic and that's just looking at the pictures...can only image how cool it is to hold it and look down the sight. Even more so cocking the hammer with the lever. Chuck Conners would love it! Awesome job on the bucket and what patience cutting all the staves plus hammering all the upholstery nails... Thanks for sharing those projects too.

yur good Herb..

That is one excellent and imaginative project.

Those are some really neat projects!!

If them didn't win. Which I don't know why it wouldn't have? I sure would have liked to see the winners projects.

Great job on all!!
