I have my work cut out for me now

Featured Replies

My firewood has been delivered. Now, I have to wheel barrow it to the wood shed and stack it. Getting dark now, so I will start tomorrow evening, should be able to get it finished Saturday.

optimist...

As much as I would like to visit and help, OR is just a bit too far. But I'll be there in spirit cheering you on!

One of my favorite things to do, it signifies the coming of fall, oh wait, fall is here!

We'll have a stack delivered and dropped on our driveway, my kids and I make about 30 wheel barrow trips to the side of the home, and we stack it. It's the symbolic part of the ordeal that makes it enjoyable.

Now, if I lived in cold country like Stick does, I don't know if I'd have the same happy happy joy joy sentiments for stacking firewood!

dump trailer...

dump it and leave it sit...

I don't do firewood.  Too much like work.

My heat comes in a big truck. It's in gaseous form. A wheelbarrow load wouldn't be all that heavy.

One of my chores after school was to split oak, locust, hedge, and hickory for a stove and fireplace. Became intimately familiar with the axe, sledge and wedges.

For me, there was no romance in the process from beginning to end. Still feel the same, 65 years later.

I always have liked to cut, spilt and stack wood - this year I did not have an opportunity to get my own to cut and split so I had to buy it already cut and split. Now it is many, many wheelbarrow loads to the wood shed. But I am thinking it will not be too bad, it just eats into my shop time.

Fred, I am sorry that you think the trip is too far - I will have M&M's, Beer, Elk Steaks, and Donuts (well probably maple bars) for those who want to swing by to help.

Only problem with that - it is where I park one of my rigs, so it has to go.

This would move it easier.  This set for sale on the local Craigslist.  $5,000 or best offer.  It is a dump trailer.

Hmmm! ...for $5000 I think that an alternative heat source and fuel for a few years could be had. Then again, there is the fun factor...:D

That trailer alone is about $2000+/- with shipping new.

So, fun factor it is with a side of useful trailer............

Exactly! I have their single axle aluminum trailer with a latching lid - perfect for ATV camping. I need to find the pictures of mine - I did a "do it yourself bed liner" on the top and inside and camo painted the outside.

I got a later start than I wanted to but I got just over half in the wood shed before the shop calling to me became to much to ignore. Should be able to finish the stacking in the am.

Wood shed is full. Still have more to stack, but I will need to track down a couple of pallets to stack it on.

Heading into the shop :) :)
