I joined this forum about a month ago and then forgot about it until a member called me and reminded me to introduce myself.

I am a retired carpenter/ construction superintendent and moved recently to new digs that has a nice large attached 2 car+ garage that I set up a workshop.  Most of the things I make are small, not into the big cabinet types anymore, not a wood turner, don't have a lathe.

My shop has 2 table saws, 3 drill presses,2 router tables,a stationary disc/belt sander, oscillating spindle/belt sander, bench top planer, bench top joiner, 10' radial arm saw , 2 band saws, drum sander,,and a scroll saw.

The shop has a ducted  3hp cyclone dust collection system with 6" diam. PVC through out the shop reduced to smaller size at certain power tools.

I see several familiar names from another site on here, big "Hi" to those guys.

Read Bills tutorial on refurbishing a hand plane good stuff, liked that.

Happy to be here and looks like a lot of good information here.

Herb

From one rookie member to another, Welcome "home" Herb. Trust me, you're gonna really like this place. Sounds like your shop is nicely equipped and set-up and being retired and all, you have more time than you know what to do with :P, so looking to see good things from you here...big or small...easy to post pictures here. Anyways, glad your here and posting now.

BTW, I believe tomorrow is your day to bring the donuts!

Awwwwwh Stick, do I have to?

Thanks for the warm  reception everyone. What Stick is referring to is the wooden padlock phase I just went through.  I got the Tim Detwiller book on making replica wooden locks and made a bunch of them. Then I got addicted and went on to make a bunch of replica antique/vintage locks I found on the internet. I'm Ok now went thru withdrawals and rehab and am back to being me. Here are some pictures of the locks for those of you who haven't seen them.

I hope this is not too long.

Herb

will you be posting your tutorial in the woodworking forum???

i a good one...

Those are "flat-out" cool! Memorizing just to scroll down and take them all in! You should consider posting these in the Gallery section too! Thanks for sharing your addiction with us. :D

However, it still is your turn to bring the donuts! :P

Very unique.  My favorite it the elephant.

Welcome to the forum, Herb. Thanks for the kudos on the hand plane thread...still a lot of information to go.

I really like the locks as are many of the others, I'm sure, and would like to see the process.

Bill

I'm amazed by the craftsmanship. I've known carpenters and so called Master Carpenters, but this is above and beyond carpentry. Beautiful work.

Herb welcome to TPW and glad to have you. Man those are all so cool and thanks for sharing them. I hope you will join us in the forums and share you work with us.
