August 27, 20169 yr Charles Neil has brought us 3 videos about a great time and labor saving process that yields a finish ready piece in a shorter time. This is the first video. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=X9mS3Pdwh68&itct=CBIQpDAYACITCLPsjNjc4c4CFUq5fgodLygNaDIGcmVsbWZ1SOKhiKmixLSamgE%3D
August 28, 20169 yr I'm watching this guy and I'm, not getting what he's getting at. Probably because it's just one of a series he's don on the topic and unless you already know where he's coming from, it's a tad disjointed. This is a pretty good written and pictorial description: http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/woodworking-tips-1210oct/tracecoat.html
August 28, 20169 yr Author That is an excellent article, Cliff. It very succinctly describes the process. Thanks for posting it.

I generally quit watching Charles Neil because of this slow pace. He seems like a talented guy. I guess I'm just not used to having to watch a 30 minute video to get 8 minutes of information.
August 29, 20169 yr Author Yeah, Keith. He's folksy and slow paced. Knowing where he lives makes it understandable, though. Still, the video did prompt that excellent article Cliff posted. It's a technique I'll be sure to use soon.
