mounting flex hose? Ideas?

Featured Replies

I got nordfab flanges meant for flex hose. I got the hose.

The don't want to work and play well together

Any ideas for mounting tough flex hose on the flanges?

Which nordfab part do you have?

The flange intended for that purpose a QFduct_hose_adapter-300x300.jpg

metal shoe horns and dry lube..

plan ''B'' for lube is a little dish soap in water...

wire lube works too...

Since you are getting some useful answers, I will throw mine it - since they are not working/playing well together, give them a time out or a spanking

Heating the hose with a heat gun may help, won't hurt to try.

spray silicone lube makes hose slippery as snot.  Might want to take it outside to do it.  Silicone can cause problems with finish.  I used a big pair of slip joint pliers hooked on the wire to help persuade it on.

Figured it out.  Had to make an Expander. Then add heat and  acting quickly after getting the expander out they slip on easily.

The expander ( just a hunk of 1&/3/4" maple laminate I had laying around plus some all-thread  nuts and  washers):

Then I use two wrenches to work the nuts apart expanding the material

Eventually after getting about an inch between the nuts and applying heat  I  can get this:

Congratulate me ladies I got the Band saw hooked up to the DC and it works a trice~!!!

Hey Cliff, did the hose have a memory after you stretched it?  I.e, did it spring back to the original shape?
