When I renewed Woodsmith a few months back, I was surprised to see the price at about $30 per year, when other zines were about $20.  I note that Wood zine is also now at $30.  I used to sub several others, but just these two have I kept (Yoda-speak).  Have some of you noticed other zine prices coming up?  Perhaps subscribers have been dropping recently (You Tube rules!) and we're seeing survival mode sweeping an industry.  Buggy whip time?

Nor sure if they are going up, that industry is struggling....but I have noticed fewer deals available.

It could be that the cost of the paper magazine is going up, while the digital magazine probably does not cost as much, so maybe they are trying to get people to go that route.

I do get the back issues of WOOD on the thumb drive (I update every two years) but I still like the feel of a magazine and I can read it anywhere much easier than a digital copy.

Whenever I let mine run out they send me renewals at a "bigger" savings!

 I'm down to just 2 magazines now. Most of them were just doing the same projects over every few years and it wasn't anything I had any interest in doing the first time.

If there's info I need I just ask here or search on the internet.

 

The price increase you are seeing might be from when Woodsmith and Shop Notes combined into one magazine, now call the Woodsmith Guild.  Personally, I would have preferred to have kept the two magazines separate, but I guess everything changes eventually.  Even so, I still like the magazine.  Wood and Woodsmith Guild are the two I subscribe to, along with the ezine version of Woodworker's Journal.
