It's like not having to use templates.  At first I sneered at this but  ya know   - - - maybe.

Cliff this is incredible, at first I thought this was a gimmick, but after seeing their website at https://shapertools.com/

I was completely blown away even further. This is pretty ground breaking in the router world.

That's pretty amazing!

$1499   One thousand four hundred and ninety nine dollars   And I thought Festertool's router was over priced.

And they say they will want $2000.00 later on

Oh yah  Shipping is $99.00    REALLY? a hundred bucks  to ship a 14 pound box?

I don't know.

They only claim accuracy of 1/100 if an inch,   that's almost an eight of an inch  I can make a template way tighter than that.

And they don't specify if that is a + /-  or a total accuracy. They also don't say much about spindle speed or horsepower

BPBM (Bold Print By Me) I guess I am not following you, 1/100 of an inch is 0.01" and 1/8" is .1250"

Hmmmm   I guess that's what you get when dyslexics play with numbers. I've always been terrible at math.  That's 0.010" (ten thousandths of an inch).  My bad~!!

I thought you might have meant something like that but I wasn't sure. Thank you for clearing that up!

What's the 2000 later for Cliff? I did not see that part.

If it works as advertised it is worth the money in a for profit shop.  Map out the template and done.  No need to make the template.

I wonder how well it will navigate wild grain etc. I also wonder how much that special tape costs per roll. I know when I've tried free hand routing that it doesn't matter how straight a line I draw and try to follow once the grain changes its a fight to keep it on track. Even with the pop up feature i can see it being dicey. I also noticed most of the projects were in plywood so maybe with thin layers of veneer

you don't have as much of a fight with the grain. I wonder if they will be making the rounds with The Wood Working Show this season?

Sure hope so, I'd love to try it.
