And yet another from Wood....

Featured Replies

Greetings.  I too have made the migration from Wood over to this forum site.  I’ve been hooked on woodworking since taking my first woodshop class in 7th grade and am still at it today.  I’m an IT professional during the day and, like some others on here, have a few more years before I can walk away from my daytime gig.

I’m living in the Kansas City metro area and try to get as much time in the garage (shop) as I can.  The better half and I also have a small retirement place in central Missouri  on Truman Lake with plans to build a shop later this year or early next.   The site is less than a mile from the boat ramp to support my bass fishing habit and about 5 miles from a golf course, so I should have my retirement activities covered.

I don’t post too much on these sites as others are more versed in this hobby than I, but do enjoy sitting at my desk with my morning coffee reading thru the posts.  Can’t tell you all how much great info I obtained from the Shop Setup and Design section of the Wood forum that really helped with the design of the new shop.   From the short time I was on the Wood site, I learned a great deal from all the outstanding, knowledgeable members.  Thanks for your time and looking forward to the info sharing.  -Wil.

Welcome aboard. I think you will find the guys here a right friendly bunch

Welcome!

A hearty welcome, Wil.

A lot of us are here from Wood.  Glad you made it too.  You will like it here, it is a great site with great people.

Will, Welcome! Like you I came from wood, really don't post often and visit with morning coffee. I am so pleased that many of  those that I came to rely on for advise and information have migrated here.

Welcome Wil...

glad you made it....

Will - glad to see you made it over here.  Great bunch of guys with a lot of knowledge (and humor).

Wil, thank you for joining us and welcome. Well, I gotta say that retirement plan of yours sure sounds like a lot like heaven! Fishing, wood shop on the lake, golf, my goodness! It's a good future to work towards.

I hope you find your new home pleasing, if you ever need any help navigating the new oceans here, feel free ask away, we'll be near to set ya straight. Take care and be well.

Wil, glad to see you here! It's a great forum with some great features. I personally would ask you to participate more. For your own benefit as well as ours(mine).
