August 22, 20169 yr Popular Post I'm new to the forums. Didn't know where to post this question. How does one posy photos on this forum ? Thanks for the help. One of the first requests when I signed on here was to show some of my work. Band Saw boxes have been my thing lately. This is one of several Louis Keener Ventura designs that I've made. Anyone else here into making BS boxes?
August 22, 20169 yr I just played with a few pics myself getting use to how to post. Very nice work Al!
August 22, 20169 yr Thats really nice. I have made a couple, just to give it a try. Mine came out good, but good like that
August 22, 20169 yr Really top notch work, Al. Made a couple of her lotus design and modified another for gifts. If I can find the pics, I'll post them. I have done several BS boxes. Mostly my own designs. A buddy got me into them about 25 years ago. AL B is a very familiar handle. Have we corresponded on another forum?
August 23, 20169 yr Author Gene, I've been posting at the WOOD site for probably as long as 10 years more or less. It's quite likely we've at least met in the forums. I'll post photos of more, that I recently made. I've never had a lot of success with my own designs. Edited August 23, 20169 yr by It Was Al B to add content
August 23, 20169 yr Glad to see you got the picture adding figured out. It works great, just drag and drop in the box then click on the + to add them where you want them.
August 23, 20169 yr Now that's really cool! BS boxes are high on my want-to-try list once the shop gets set up.
August 23, 20169 yr I found a pic. of that lotus box. Walnut and quilted Maple. Watco and Man-O-War varnish. Black DonJer flocking. Base is supposed to resemble rippling water. Some day, I must organize our photos. Edited August 23, 20169 yr by Gene Howe
August 25, 20169 yr Wow! That's great Al. I recently bought her book and will try one soon. Joeb 41 (AKA Joebtool at Wood)
August 25, 20169 yr Author You did a great job with the lotus Gene. This is the most time consuming of all the boxes that Lois offers in her books.. But, I think it's well worth the effort .Really 2 boxes +..The Tsunami I posted is one of my earlier boxes.using cherry and spalted maple. the finish was a satin varnish.
August 25, 20169 yr Time consuming it surely was, Al. If I ever do another one, the flowers will be separated more. It was a bear sanding between them.
