Welcome to Wood Magazine forum people

John............I would like this posted on all of the  forums.

WELCOME to everyone who participated in the Wood Magazine forums. I started there and was disappointed at how the site was administrated and how crude it was in many ways. I can say  crude because my son-in-law is a computer programmer genius and has designed many web sites and programs. He said that the site wasn't what it could or should  be. Anyway, I stumbled upon this site and saw many features that I liked. Then they wanted to change the site name to The Patriot woodworker. WHAT? I am a Viet Nam vet and was totally surprised. Surprised and happy that someone cared that much about our vets.

Then I saw how closely it was monitored. At first it irked me not to be able to cuss. (You know how old guys are}  That told me that  they would not permit hateful or profane entries. It also told me that they monitor the site closely

Now with the the new people that have come on this site, I have had some great comments and I also have some great new web friends and resources of advise.

Sometimes you have a difficult time getting on this site. It just means that it is being improved. Another thing I like.

WELCOME!!

I have been active or at least been a part of probably 15-20 forums, including some facebook groups, over the years. Never have I seen "old"  members be as gracious to new members as what I've seen here. I understand this is kind of a unique situation, still it's gratifying to see. Another thing I have noticed, on most forums I've been a part of, there are dozens of member willing to give advice but few willing to give a compliment. That doesn't seem to be the case here either.

Agreed, the courtesy and respect is very noticeable...it feels good to be welcomed warmly as I've noticed (and experienced) on this site and a couple of others I belong to.
