July 30, 20169 yr A couple of months ago I cut some angled pieces of Cedar to check my saw accuracy. I made a project out of some of the wood and nearly tossed the rest. I did a glue up to check the angles, they came out nice and set them aside. Today I decided to make a little box for my granddaughter out of them. It has 6 sides that are 4" and I made a fancy lid for a little girl.
July 30, 20169 yr You amaze me Ron with the time you spend on crafts, great work sir. Your work will be left behind long after your gone, and it will be a constant reminder of the man.
July 31, 20169 yr Author John, I was an instrument tech at power plant when everything was mechanical. That meant adjusting and waiting for results. Then repeat and repeat until you get the proper calibration. So I was trained to have a ton of patience. I always loved art and have painted pictures and created some clay figures. However, woodworking is where I find myself, because it requires a lot of planning, creativity and quite a bit of engineering. I get lost in my hobby and the hours just fly by.

I love it Ron, thanks for the back history on that, no wonder! By the way, you paint very well too! You are an artist, probably more so than you'd like to admit?
