Manzanita Burls

Featured Replies

Hey guys, I found a huge stash of Manzanita Burls for sale. They're not cheap but there's some good looking pieces. Any interest, let me know.

Haven't played with Manzanita in years Gene!

I think the last time I worked with the stuff was at 6th grade camp, we had a project sanding and shining a piece of Manzanita, we then took it home to our parents. I love the character of the stuff. Now, what does a burl look like? Do you have any images?

Here is some Manzanita with a finish. Beautiful stuff.

Absolutely gorgeous Gene. It is the quintessential western wood species, so much history and western folklore surrounds the Mazanita. The stuff grows like weeds in my neck of the country!

Beautiful Grips Gene, did you make those?

Thinking about making some for my 1911.

No, John. They were made by a guy over on Lumberjocks.

When time permits, I'm going to get some and make some oval inlays for boxes, though.
