When you are sanding, hand or machine and on the lathe, you sometimes get unwanted dust from one color into another. I don't know of a way to clean it off of unwanted places. It was suggested to me that I use alcohol and that would help a lot.  

 

Any thoughts on that?

    I've heard of folks using shellac to seal the grain before sanding. I haven't tried it so can't say if it works or not.
