Bird house problem

Featured Replies

I have built many bird houses with many fun faces.  I have run into a problem. They are also great places for wasps to make a home. The darn things also kill small birds. After some web  research, I found out that if you rub soap on the inside surfaces, the wasps won't stay because their nest making glue won't stick. That would be a real chore, tare them apart and soap them.  Then I remembered my dry Teflon spray. I opened the roof and sprayed all surfaces above the access hole. It felt slick and  I sure hope it works.

Those are fantastic bird houses. Great job on all of them.

Like Lew, I hope the spray does the trick.

The hail damaged some of them badly. It did save some birds lives. I'll  have to wait till fall and they leave to fix some of them

This one was facing the hail, no nose, eye and half of the roof  got blasted away

That is interesting information on the soap and wasp. I will be interested if you find out the spray works. I have a couple I will be giving the spray to if that works out.

Those are beautiful bird houses!!!
