February 1, 201610 yr Well, getting to the point thes old "Reader" glasses just ain't getting it done. Need to get "real" glasses. But.....most of the eye doctors around these parts will NOT take Tricare of any kind. Soo, whom do I shake up/down to get these eyeballs seen to? Getting "Baby Cataracts" in the left eye..... Might try VA, not sure just how, and how L O N G it takes. Any ideas out there?
February 1, 201610 yr Well there are several options out there 1) the VA although not sure how long that would take now a days 2) Might wish to look at a private insurance police for Vision - I saw a couple with just a quick search that started at around $12 a month 3) go to the tricare website and look up ophthalmologists that are covered under your plan other than that I am not sure what would be your best bet. February 1, 201610 yr Steve, get to the VA now, today, and get in there and get the exam scheduled etc. My dad a few years ago had his glasses done at the local VA and it was only a couple weeks from exam date to receiving his glasses. They are pretty good with things like this, as a matter of fact the VA in many locations is just as a good as any private doctors office. And if you do have a slow VA in your neck of the woods, than at least you'll have gotten the ball rolling, and worse case scenario you get your VA glasses in a month, but meanwhile you found a better resource that gave you your glasses much sooner, you'll then have two sets of glasses.
February 1, 201610 yr Steve, Here are some links to get you started- http://www.va.gov/ ; http://www.benefits.va.gov/BENEFITS/Applying.asp ; https://www.1010ez.med.va.gov/sec/vha/1010ez/
February 7, 201610 yr Author Looks like a walk downtown tomorrow? I think the ones downtown will even give me a ride to where I need to go. Supposed to be a place up in Lima, OH. Also need to shift the meds down to Kitty Hawk Pharm. at WPAFB, in Dayton,OH...... I once went past the place where Hangar 18 USED to be....just a foundation there, now.....
February 8, 201610 yr Bandit, meds all come from your regional pharmacy. Your med history is available to any center. Why bother switching?
February 8, 201610 yr Author Because they haven't been transferred over there. Still in civilian hands. Need to contact the Regonial Center to get the meds transferred over to the TriCare systems. Then they can just mail the meds to me. Otherwise, 50 miles one way to pick them up.....well, and Grocery shop, too.....
