January 25, 201610 yr Made this box from clear pine. The box is approx 3 inches wide x 5 inches long and 2 inches deep. The box opens like a flip top and the hinge points are 1/8 inch dowel rod. The horse was a created from a public domain image from 1/4 african mahogany scrap that I had in the shop. The box was sealed with tung oil and then top coated with satin lacquer. DW
January 25, 201610 yr Nice! With the "inside box" being that tall, how did you prevent binding when it is opened?

Lew I rounded the top of the back of the outside of the inner box part a bit to relieve it so that when the lid opened it did not bind. It took a couple of tries before I had it correct and it opened smoothly. Hope that helps Lew. DW
