December 28, 201510 yr Well, at age 67 one shouldn't be trying to move....but I guess that's what we'll be doing. LOML found a house that we absolutely had to have () and it looks like we close on it later this month. We gave the owner 90 days to clear out, since she had an unbelievable pile of stuff (not a hoarder, just a lifetime of things) and I don't want to move in the winter months; besides that will put this house up for sale in the early spring after we move. Anyway, point of this post...the new house won't have a detached building for a shop so job one may be getting it built. Since I'll finish and wire it myself, it may be next winter before I get back to building things. The good news is that the new house will need a lot of wooden furniture pieces so I'll have no shortage of things to build. Still, moving at 67?...it really sucked when we moved here at age 62!
December 28, 201510 yr Good Luck, Fred! We've lived in our house since 1968. My next move is either to a nursing home or Parklawn Cemetery. Sometimes it takes me a couple of hours to find things I know I have. I can't imagine trying to do it after a move!
December 28, 201510 yr Holy cow Fred! Just when you thought you were all settled in right! But on the other hand, all this just keeps ya young! So now you have a ton of stuff to do and build, this should keep you busy till your at least 98 years old.

January 2, 201610 yr We bought our first house in 68 and loved it. Then in 2009 we left Ohio and moved to Colorado to with our daughter and grandkids. I was about your age when we made the big move. I absolutely knew that we would be back in Ohio in less that a year. Was I ever wrong. In 3 months I was convinced that this is where I want to be. Love it here. I hope you have the same feeling about your new home. Congratulations!

Moving is a challenge anyway you look at it. By the way Fred, are you still in the same town?
January 2, 201610 yr Well this just gives you a chance to setup a new shop and do it the way you want it. I would hate to even think about moving right now, we have been in this house for 25 years and I think there are things that have never gotten unpacked when we moved here. Best of luck, and hurry and get a shop going!

By the way Fred, are you still in the same town? I'm moving over one zip code...the one we were in before buying this house. This will have to be the last time, I'm getting too old to expect to move again. BTW, Ron.....If LOML would leave the grandkids my butt would have been out of Ohio the day I retired 13 years ago. I absolutely hate living (and everything else) in this state, I'm a native so I get to badmouth it any way I want.
