December 3, 201510 yr comment_63756 Thanks to all for the welcome. You asked me to introduce myself, so here goes. My wife and I reside in far northern Wisconsin near Eagle River, where we are both employed. I am 61 years old and have been a hobby woodworker and metalworker for most of my adult life. Other consuming interests include full scale railroading, live steam small scale locomotives and HO model railroading. Additional interests include snowmobiling in winter and sitting on our deck with a cold beer in summer. Regarding woodworking, I have had a lifelong passion for Delta machinery. About 7 years ago I discovered the OWWM and Vintage Machinery websites in concurrence with also discovering Ebay and Craigslist. My machine quests got serious at that time. As I now have the ability to set up a heated shop, I began several machine restorations in earnest last year. My woodworking equipment is primarily pre-1960 Delta, along with several 50’s era Craftsman items. I also have a 1946 Atlas 10” metal lathe in operation and a mid-50’s Bridgeport mill that awaits restoration. Once the machinery is all up and running, future plans involve several projects for my dear wife such as quilt racks, etc. I also have several furniture restorations planned. Metal projects may include attempting to make progress on a live steam locomotive that I began building in 1972. I have no plans at present to retire, so all progress is predicated on spare time. December 6, 201510 yr comment_63813 Dave, welcome, this is awesome stuff you have going on in your life with all the restorations and woodworking, and a live locomotive! I love trains! If you ever feel up to it I'd sure like to see your work in the train realm. As you may know we are in the midst of beefing up our old machinery forums so I hope you'll make use of them and help us fortify the fort in that area! Thanks Dave for coming aboard! Report
