Here it is Wednesday again. We've had showers and rain the last couple of days which made for some extended shop time. I've been getting materials ready in order to make some more rolling pins.

 

The final prep steps are to run all of the thin pieces, on the left, through the drum sander to get them down to .125" thick. Maple and walnuts pieces are done, but the pile of cherry is waiting to be finished. Then cut them all to length. You certainly can't sell a rolling pin for a price to turn a profit- but it's fun!

 

I saw an article from Woodworker's Journal discussing what to look for in a 4 jaw lathe chuck

Besides the projects and images, your description of rain and wood shop sounds very cozy and relaxing, I love the rain, and while I am working in my shop, it don't get any better than that for me anyway. Thanks, John. It has been really dry here in Pennsylvania. During the month of November we've had only one or two days of showers. Nothing compared to you folks are experiencing, however.

Agreed! Here in the northeast it looks like it's going to be a mild winter (at least thru December)- if the National Weather Service is correct.

Let's hope the're right.

I've already lost our antennas due to the first wet heavy snow. 

Of course it wouldn't drop any of the seasoned in place trees I'm taking down for firewood.
