September 4, 201510 yr comment_62307 Came in the mail today Lovely, ain't it? And, this was it's best side.. Ah..yeah. Well, this MIGHT take a bit. Found a spider's nest in the frog. Didn't find anything broken. Found a "Whale Tail" though.. Got all the rust, most of the gray primer paint, and the spider nest cleaned off...found some orange paint... Well, I missed some of the gray paint. Lever cap was nickle plated...at one time. gave the base a coat of black paint where it needed it. Put this old Jack plane back together.. iron is sharp, but it has a camber, ala Schwarz. Sole even cleaned up nicely... Guess it wasn't so ugly after all... Report

September 4, 201510 yr comment_62309 You had me worried Lew. I thought you had a picture of Fred Wilson. Cool plane though! Report
October 28, 201510 yr comment_63051 You simply need to realize that nothing ugly comes out of the beautiful state of Georgia. It was just in costume. Looks great. I always enjoy seeing you bring life back into those planes. Report
October 28, 201510 yr Author comment_63054 Apparently, I seem to have "won" a Stanley No. 7c type 10......over at Cambridge, OH......looks almost as bad as that old No.5c.... It will need to have a rear handle, and the brass nut for it scrounged up. The rest of the clean up might take an hour or two.... Need to play "catch-up" around here..Seems I have found a few other items to clean up.. maybe later this week? Report
